The Mission

Our mission is to empower individuals affected by conditions that cause hand tremors—including Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological or age-related disorders—to eat independently and with dignity. By integrating gyro-stabilization technology in thoughtfully designed adaptive cutlery with interchangeable heads and ergonomic grips, we aim to reduce reliance on caregivers, enhance mealtime comfort, and promote user autonomy. This innovation addresses the daily challenges of traditional utensils, providing greater stability and control, and ultimately improving the quality of life for those with tremors.

The Challenge

The problem we are addressing is the significant challenge faced by individuals with hand tremors—caused by conditions like Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and multiple sclerosis—in performing everyday tasks such as eating. Standard cutlery is often difficult or impossible to use for these individuals, leading to a loss of independence, reliance on caregivers, and a diminished quality of life. This unmet need calls for adaptive utensils that provide stability, comfort, and control, enabling users to eat independently and with dignity.

The solution

Our solution is to develop adaptive cutlery featuring gyro-stabilization technology and ergonomic, interchangeable utensil heads designed specifically for individuals with hand tremors. This innovative design stabilizes hand movements to minimize tremor effects, allowing users to hold and use utensils with ease and control. By enhancing the stability and functionality of cutlery, our solution empowers users to eat independently, reducing caregiver dependency and improving their overall mealtime experience.
