The Mission

Our mission is to simplify student transitions and promote sustainability by creating a circular economy for household essentials. MoovIn helps departing students pass on their used household items to new arrivals, offering them affordable, high-quality starter kits while reducing environmental waste. We aim to make moving into university life stress-free, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.

The Challenge

Students in Maastricht face several challenges when moving in and out of student housing: Unfurnished Housing: Most homes lack basic essentials like plates, cutlery, and kitchenware, forcing new students to spend significant amounts on household goods. Waste and Costs: After graduating, many students leave behind these items, contributing to unnecessary waste. Meanwhile, new students must buy everything again, leading to duplicated purchases and expenses. Inconvenience of Selling: Graduating students struggle with the hassle of selling their items on platforms like Facebook Marketplace. They worry about: Not finding buyers in time. Summer breaks, when there are fewer buyers. Efforts are required to list and negotiate sales.

The solution

MoovIn offers a sustainable, hassle-free solution by creating curated kits from the gently used items left behind by departing students. These kits are cleaned, quality-checked, and resold to new students at affordable prices. With MoovIn, students: Save money: Affordable pricing compared to buying new items. Reduce waste: Promoting the reuse of household goods cuts down on environmental impact. Avoid selling hassles: Departing students no longer need to post items on Facebook Marketplace or worry about finding buyers, especially before summer. MoovIn buys their items directly, offering them a convenient, stress-free way to offload their household goods. Enjoy convenience: New students can easily order kits online, with options for pickup or delivery.
